These are somewhat thin knitted gloves with grippy nubs over the entire contact area. (They should be looking the other way in the photos, the dots are pretty neat.) Unless you're buying them because you think they'll keep your hands warm in minus 30 degrees, you'll probably like them. . One caveat - they run a bit small, even XL, but they will stretch over time as you wear them, so it's probably just a matter of knitting style.
