Annoyingly noisy - not the best option for HTPC

The version I'm reviewing is i3 1005G1 8GB with 256GB SSD. I gave 2 stars because it's quick and easy to update. But even with a CPU reset (standard practice for me on any pre-built machine) it's absurdly loud. constantly accelerating. In my opinion the way they designed the chassis airflow is one of the main culprits. The fan lacks direct access to actually force fresh air through the heatsink and they haven't utilized the space relative to the heatsink. You could definitely go with a bigger radiator and give some thought to the placement of the air intakes. If you're looking for something quiet, get the AWOW AK41. You can have NVME SSD, M.2 SATA drive and 2.5 inch drive. It is completely inaudible 100% of the time with a clean install of the PC. Just make sure you get a $6-8 m.2 heatsink for any .2 drives you use in these mini pc's. With no airflow where the m.2 drives are located, they will become very hot.IMO, the AWOW option AK41 re-glued a 970 EVO SSD (with m.2 heatsink) and whatever extra storage you need along with a clean install of Windows 10 is the best thing I can imagine and I'm REALLY glad I didn't decide to build my own mini-PC for my own use. However, stay away from it unless you are using it in a noisy office or workplace.
