I used this anti slip tape on some ladders that I replaced when I went to the workshop. Since the new ladder is smoother than the old one, I needed something that would provide traction, especially in snowy or wet boots/boots. When I first received the tape, frosted glass, opaque, came to mind (see photo with part of the substrate torn off). However, once you apply it it becomes quite see-through (second photo) but not as bad as I expected when I first saw the tape. As mentioned you really need to use some kind of roller to apply it as the pressure removes the air (I assume) behind the tape and allows the tape to take on the paint(s) behind it. Don't tell my wife :-) but I used a kitchen rolling pin, a soft/flexible cutting board (to spread the pressure on the sand) and all my weight to roll over the belt. If you have a J-Roller this would be perfect. Can't comment on durability, but after a few weeks in my garage the tape seems to be holding up (winter temperatures vary here in Utah, but it's reasonably weatherproof).
