Review on OTC Canvas Lace Up Semi Rigid X Small by Brian Page

thick ankles, no sideways movement

I've been looking for two days for an orthosis that prevents almost 100% sideways movement and this is the ONLY model and brand that offers this. However, I have a fitness issue, so I didn't stop there. I'm a women's size 9ft with big ankles (fat ankles). It comes in size S-XL. I'm between L and XL. The L fits best in the back and under the foot, but the strap only covers 1.3 of the forefoot of my foot. The XL is longer underfoot so it hits the bottom of the front pad on my foot which is annoying but the metal says it's in a better position. Both are well laced up, but it's very annoying that all brands' sizing doesn't match the heel to ankle measurement, because it's worn, it has to be snug, and like all specialists actually measure. When I'm done with that I'll probably pick L and add some foam on the front under the laces so I don't cut myself. Another great thing about this model is that it's made of canvas to keep your foot in place and the laces are cotton so they don't dig into your foot like nylon laces. Unless you need ZERO lateral stability I found another OTC model with molded plastic legs instead of metal seats to be GREAT and was the only model that fit well out of the 12 brands tested. I had an XL in this model, OTC ankle stabilizer, wheel attachment straps. I wish I was strong enough for this, but not now.
