The plastic is quite thick so I hope it will hold up. Holds a variety of earrings, both studs and fishhooks. There are slots to hang the hoop if you don't need to close it. When folded it is quite compact. It's open on the sides so there's nothing to protect it from dust, but I knew that when I ordered it. One of the earring holes was not pierced but this is the only defect I have found and should not be returned due to a single stain on the earring. It stores many earrings in an organized way. If you only have fishhooks I don't think you can fit as many pairs as the top pairs overlap the bottom pairs of each tier, but I have about the same number of rivets and fishhooks so this is perfect for my collection.
