This is the first and only Amika product I have purchased. I used it exactly as directed. My hair is tangled and I comb it thoroughly before gently shampooing. I couldn't even comb my hair with a wide tooth comb after using this product. It added some shine, but nothing was worth the gooey bird's nest he made of my hair. I used a clarifying shampoo before using this product because I need to see what a new product can do on its own without the help of a shampoo that leaves hair silky and soft to begin with. The directions say to wash with shampoo, wring out excess water and then apply this product so I figured it would detangle hair like most conditioners since it's used in place of a conditioner. Hair. This may work better for those with silky straight hair, or use a smoothing shampoo that detangles hair first. It was a huge waste of $25 for me. I get way more shine with Maui Moisture's Blue Bottle Shine Spray, which is silicone-free and helps detangle hair for just $10.
