Review on Ethnadore Vintage Indian Oxidized Beaded Pendant Necklace – Statement Jewelry by Mark Scoggins

Beautiful dramatic details

These necklaces are definitely eye-catchers! I received a style 4 which doesn't look like the matte brown in the photo but is actually a translucent amber color. I was very pleased with it as the "amber" center piece has a warm glow and really brings the whole chain to life. The necklace is a combination of wooden and plastic beads on a slightly elastic transparent cord (double stranded for strength). The clasp at the back is a small lobster claw and a large split ring; this usually works great, but because the claw is so small, it sometimes gets stuck on itself. It doesn't bother me *much*, but it may cause anger/frustration in others. The details on the die-cast metal parts are very commendable, with very clean lines and raised dots (imitation of grain). The black dots in the middle part are the painted parts of the metal casting and the yellowish "stone" in the top part is the epoxy attached resin/plastic part. The amber crescent is also attached to the entire metal base with an epoxy/glue bead and seems very secure, although my alignment is slightly off (leaning a bit over the edge/slight gap at the top). The crescent I'm thinking of also arrived quite scratched, but they're only on the surface so maybe I can buff out the scratches if I'm careful. The back of this impressive metal centerpiece is hollow, so while it looks heavy, the weight isn't too bad for you (it's a good design choice). Overall I am very impressed with the quality and design of this item. It looks great with shirts of different colors and is a wonderful reminder of East Asian culture and clothing.
