As other reviews have said, this is a very solid stand. It's nice and thick aluminum and looks like it will last a very long time. I use it for my laptop in my office where it raises it to normal monitor height. And then I use a separate keyboard for ergonomics. It helps me not to feel neck pain after a day of work. It also helps keep your laptop cool as there is a significant hole in the 'shelf'. What should you look out for when looking for such a stand? It doesn't look like either of them are easily adjustable. This requires an Allen key, but once set it holds up very well. You're a little limited in how you want to tilt your laptop to make sure you balance it so it doesn't fall backwards. I put a small stack of DVDs inside to act as a counterweight so the kids wouldn't accidentally knock it over. The rubber bumpers keep the laptop on the stand really well! But the build quality is phenomenal and it looks stylish!
