Processed. My previous review is below. I loved this pillow so much I bought one for my dad and recently another one for myself. The first was soft. My dads and this new one are rock solid! Very disappointed. I have changed my rating accordingly. Verification of the original purchase. For someone with a small head/neck this is a good size. I still have to flatten it on top when my head is on it to tuck it under my neck, but that's due to the type of support I'm using it for. I also see where some might like it below the knees. The pillow doesn't quite straighten up, but it's not very firm either. If you're looking for something solid, you won't like this.
