The ViaAqua LED strips in the tank are sensational. Lighting brings a whole new dimension to aquascaping and allows you to create many amazing, creative and unique effects. I've tried a similar product from Marineland in the past, whose products I usually love. But the problem with their light strips is that they are so light and the suction cups are so small that the sticks kept popping up and floating to the surface. Or my fish could easily knock them out with one push. Large, powerful suction cups are attached to movable brackets that cover 3/4 of the stick. The end result is that they stay in place nicely. Even my 8" Blue Oranda can't get them to stir - and THAT is saying something. I have two all blue sticks in one 55" tank and decided to try two blue and white 12" sticks in the other. The Effect is just great..I use both sticks with a Rena 400 air pump which is more than capable of producing a steady stream of nice and consistent bubbles. The pump has two outlets and each is fully adjustable so you can choose from one gentle flow of bubbles to a full flow can throttle air curtains. More than just a visually stunning and unique addition to your aquarium, aeration will fill your water with copious amounts of much-needed oxygen. A common problem with most of these dual-operation air hoses is that that they clog easily - and quite often. A quick fix is to gently poke with a finger or a blunt object (I use the Kan te of a flat butter knife) over the rubber tube, instantly releasing it and instantly rebounding the entire bladder wall. The LED ceiling lighting system is a great E replacement at a fraction of the cost. Even if you are using a ceiling system (I have a Marineland Double Bright LED system) these sticks still give your aquarium a very nice and special look. white and blue but it's amazing. However, if you want to create a moon mode for your aquarium so you can observe your fish without disturbing their sleep/rest cycle, you will need all blue LED lights. ViaAqua does this in many sizes from 4" to 24" and in a variety of colors including red, multicolor and interchangeable color modules so you are sure to find one that suits your imagination and will look wonderful in your aquarium. As a precaution, you should know the size you need before purchasing these sticks. If placed too close to your air intake, bubbles will end up being sucked into the filter, causing noise and can affect the efficiency of your filters. The experience of 1-2 inches from the entrance is perfect. But depending on the GPH of your filter, you may find that you can place them closer, or that you need to hold the ends of the sticks a bit further away. I have 8 of these sticks and use two in each tank - they work great and again the effect is amazing. The best price I've seen was from Revain and all the units were well packaged and delivered very quickly. You have everything you need. Including some air hoses, instructions, a transformer plug, more than enough cord and of course the wands themselves. This is an amazing product that I would recommend to any aquarist, especially those looking to add some flair to their aquarium.
