When the strip arrived it was as small as I expected based on other reviews and sizing pictures. I ordered it because the perioral dermatitis I used to suffer from flared up again after years of having reasonably decent skin (I've been diagnosed with perioral dermatitis, adult acne and rosacea). What used to help my skin calm down was an azalic acid cream and facial cleanser with an ultrasonic dandruff shampoo. About 5 months ago, about 5 months after giving birth and after using an azalic acid topical cream, I noticed a few patches on the skin. the sides of my mouth are starting to show signs of the perioral dermatitis coming back. I tried to be more consistent with the cream and noticed an improvement but it didn't go away. In the months that followed, the condition worsened. Then, a little over a month ago, it developed into a full-fledged recurrence of perioral dermatitis. I updated my knowledge about this disease. This is usually caused by the use of a steroid cream (this is how the rating of a person who has used a steroid cream for treatment has gotten worse rather than better). It mainly affects women and is probably due to fluctuating hormones. I haven't touched steroid creams in years, but I've had hormonal changes since having my baby 10 months ago. I also think that the final deterioration could also be due to the decrease in humidity after our humidifier broke. Solution: Typical medical treatment relies heavily on oral antibiotics. Since I'm breastfeeding and have problems with thrush, I didn't really want to go that route. I stopped using clindamycin (sp?) and continued to use azalinic acid cream. I switched to a natural toothpaste without fluoride, which some websites say makes Parkinson's disease worse. I started using coconut oil due to my flaky skin, but a friend convinced me to switch to Neutrogena's water-based gel moisturizer. I didn't wear much makeup anymore, but I had to fight the urge to hide my hideous skin. Finally, I decided to try Osmia Organics Black Clay Soap. I only use it once a day and keep it out of the shower to keep it as long as possible. Even when treated with oral antibiotics, it may take time for Parkinson's disease to respond to treatment. It takes patience. Fortunately, the rash has slowly and steadily improved. It's been about 3 or 4 weeks since I started using this soap and I feel like I'm about 65% back to normal and still getting better. It took 3 months to get the same progress using topical preparations only for the last time. I'm glad I made faster progress this time. I'm deducting a star for the ridiculously high price for such a small bar of soap (or even if it was a regular sized bar).
