Gigantic! Very large but compact and useful

I had a chance to try Turkish towels when I was in Istanbul and went to a Turkish bath. I wanted to buy some pieces and bring back but I forgot to buy them before leaving Istanbul. This turkish towel is huge as shown in my photos. My husband and dogs modeled for me to show how tall he is. And I compared the size with a standard bath towel. It's very big. I plan to use them as beach or pool towels as they dry very quickly. And it's big enough for both of us to lie on it on the beach. You can also use it as a light blanket or shawl. I'm glad it's very compact even when folded, making it easy to pack or store away. The thickness is reminiscent of a scarf. I would say it's a bit thicker than a light scarf but thinner than the airplane blanket you get on long flights. I won't be using it as a shawl due to its size, but you can fold it up and use it as a blanket or sit on it for a picnic. I found the absorbency good when using it after showering, but it's definitely different from regular towels. I think regular towels are more absorbent but I think this Turkish towel is very useful for travel as it dries very quickly. I just mean it's different from traditional towels before I buy it. I am very happy to find a large Turkish towel for my future trips to the beaches/lakes.
