WORKS as described and then

I connected a 7 USB 3.0 port to a USB 3.1 Gen 1 port I was able to connect two WD Passports, one 2TB and the other 4TB. I migrated a 100GB mixed fileset from 2TB to 4TB. While this transfer was at USB 3.0/HDD speeds, I also had a Samsung 850 Pro 1TB in an external HDE Clear USB 3.0 Gen 1 enclosure with a full CrystalDiskMark6 benchmark running. No hiccups at all. The test was as expected, High 400 Read and Low 400 Write. I have no idea how long this will take, looks like it will go well with your main 7 port USB 3.0. This is what I was looking for in a 7 port hub. So many just lock themselves up by simply plugging in two external hard drives, let alone transferring 100GB of files. The built-in cable is a heavy-duty USB 3.1 Gen 2 cable, so keep in mind that the only downside is the brightness of the blue LEDs that go into the port next to it, unless you need to use them for large data transfers, but only on the side next to it so you can see that the port is down. I will come back to this review if nothing changes in the next few months. 05/03/2020 My first one still works great and I've bought 2 more, I haven't experienced a data transfer error with any of the 3 yet. This is the option when you need to transfer a lot of data to 2 or more external hard drives at the same time. I'm not saying other companies haven't caught up with this device, but they didn't when I bought the first one. I didn't feel the need to try others.
