Ok, first let me say I've been searching and searching for an aquarium light that simulates a 24 hour diurnal cycle with smooth up and down transitions. I had modern US LED lights, Fluval and Micmol. All beautiful light, and with each new light I thought I finally had one that did what I wanted. Well, I chose Micmol because it actually allowed me to adjust the length of the ramp up and down the way I wanted. That was great! But I still felt that no matter how hard I tried, the ramp still wasn't as smooth as I wanted. Even the fish sometimes responded to not-so-subtle random climbs and/or falls or climbs in the ramp. It will still be there though, and I've tried all the math with the formula Mikmol gave me. It was never an integer percentage, so no matter how linear I tried to make each channel's duration. But it was the best I found. Also, the micmol was positioned higher above the tank, which was nice. I didn't have to take it off to work in the tank when I needed it. At least that's how I saw the light. They have several models and after reviewing each of them. Finnex 24/7 ALC was the best in terms of watts and PAR. So order and wow! It's very light. The water shimmers on the pebbles like the sun on a lake or river bed. But the best! Transitions from morning to noon, to dawn and then to midnight, higher and higher. It's so even that you don't notice the light gradually increasing or decreasing as you increase or decrease the brightness. Very soft. Sunsets and sunrises are incredible. In addition, you can change any part of the 24-hour brightness and colors. Noon is as bright as the sun. The bottom of the tank flickers. The fish is no longer worried. I love this amazing light from Finnex. Hope this helps anyone looking for the same. And oh I've read some negative opinions on here about the 24th cycle - it's a joke, and the weather effects are causing the fish to cramp. lol come on How dramatic. There must be another lamp manufacturer trying to stop you from buying this lamp. So sad. Lol, Finnex ALC 24/7 is cool and smooth. All their models are available. But there are only two models with 24/7 mode that you can customize 100% to your liking and with real red LEDs. So be sure to check out the model details before you buy if you want to set up 24/7 lighting every day. As for the weather. Yes, these are gimmicks now that the company could just skip, but if they did I'm sure some would complain why they don't have them. So they're there if you want to play, but I don't use them. But if that's what you're really looking for, let me tell you that Current USA has the most realistic effects. The lighting works in two modes, and cloudy days also come in two modes. Both have light and heavy effects. Also, the lighting is so realistic compared to everyone else. The illumination tends to flicker randomly from different parts of the light strip and at different intensities. In addition, the dark blue color of the sky is preserved during impacts. Unlike everyone else. This also applies to rolling cloud effects. Very very cool. You should copy all these types in weather effects. Let's get back to Finnex. You need to see this light in action to understand the wow factor. And your plants will love it too.
