At first I was attracted by LumeCube's stylish marketing videos and bought the Panel Go on the spur of the moment. Although everything was done as promised, I realized there might be other options. For the price of one Panel Go I got two IVISII G2 RGB lights (the name sucks) and was blown away by their versatility. The build quality is phenomenal, and while they're bigger, thicker, and noticeably heavier than the LumeCube, I believe these things will survive the apocalypse. Both came with a USB-A to USB-C cable of the same length, and the battery life was about the same. Here are the differences: IVISII pro compared to LumeCube - MUCH brighter - RGB lighting + cool effects - Color range (cold to warm) is larger - Built-in articulated arm serves as a secure stand, making a tripod unnecessary - I like the tactile on/off switch to hold the button on the Go bar instead - comes with a carrying case - comes with a 1/4 20 nozzle, with the LumeCube's nozzle costing an additional $20 - love that you navigate between three can settings (white, RGB, effects) and remembers the last setting of all three functions. The LumeCube does that too, but it only has temperature and brightness - after all, you can adjust it to anything and rotate it to any position. When you buy a panel light you already know the importance of lighting and it's easy to find the perfect angle with this light. The advantages of LumeCube over IVISII are smaller, thinner, lighter and more pocket-friendly. I also think it would be much more convenient to have it installed on a camera or portable device for a long period of time. For my purposes, IVISII bulbs are almost always stationery, so I didn't need portability - comes with a silicone diffuser which came in handy for close-ups of the face - however has a color LCD on the back instead of the usual monochrome LCD which I miss having Not IVISSI - the packaging is much nicer - the name is much better. I really wish IVISII could connect to my computer so I could download more than 9 built in effects. In particular, I'd like a "fire" effect that looks like a chimney or an explosion. I'm not sure if the USB cable is just a power supply or if there's some sort of interface with a computer chip on board so I can update the software in the future, but I'm guessing not. All in all, if you're looking for a light that does everything the Panel Go can, plus more for half the price (and you're happy with the bulkier, heavier weight), you won't regret this purchase.
