Less than ideal.
This item has a 'unisex' tag but was purchased for my daughter. Wide at the foot, but I understand it's going to be difficult to find something "unisex" that fits both ends of the demographic bell curve. If it didn't have the ability to turn into a product I would ask for a refund.
