Review on πŸ”§ RX-LOX-PM Fuel and Water Pack Mount, Compatible with Fuelpax Standard Pack Gas Can and Water Pack Mount by Giles Lacoste

Revainrating 3 out of 5

catastrophe is imminent. NEED WORK.

Bought a few weeks ago. I finally got around to installing it. I check and the key is stuck in the locked state. There is no way to remove or unlock the key. I just wrote to the seller but I'm afraid to use it in the field. I may not have access to fuel and am stuck out of nowhere. A compromise would be to keep unlocking in the field. I bought a padlock so people can't steal my empty gas can ($90) when I'm driving my van around town. I wrote to the seller. The seller sent me another one. ***EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE***. But I still have reservations about the product. I managed to dismantle the locking mechanism. The latches (one on each side of the lock cylinder) use the cylinder body to align themselves when retracted. The problem is that there is too much free play. In my case the latch got stuck in the housing and could not be retracted when the lock cylinder turned. So for the new one I will inject some grease into the cylinder to limit free play and prevent metal surfaces from sticking. UPDATE: Customer service was top notch: I wish all CS were the same. I received my replacement 3 days after contacting CS. The new one has a lot of free play again. I added just enough lube to keep the latch from getting stuck in the case. It has been tested several times, I am satisfied with the result, I like to use it. I've read that the $100 OEM from Rotopax has the same problem and is of the same quality as this one. So I'm glad I didn't pay 100€. BTW I feel all Rotopax products are ***MUCH*** overpriced because Revain won't ship another similar product due to CARB in CA. (Yes, I have some Rotopax products and can judge the quality.)
