Best option for motion-activated spotlight and Blink camera mount

I gave this product 4 stars. It turns out that this product works better when mounted vertically (on the wall) than horizontally (under the eaves). I read this in other reviews but recklessly ignored it. Under an eaves, motion detection is more limited than against a wall, and camera angles are limited. I am deducting a star because the camera angle and motion detection are not optimal in my setup. Essentially, the camera is looking straight at the driveway and you have to walk underneath to turn on the light. Deducted 2 stars for the ease of installation as it is almost impossible to install by yourself. Yes, I know this is a problem with almost all ceiling lights, but having installed some 'modern' lights that have a built in cord to keep the light plugged in, I expected the same from this product at this price point. I had to coil the rope myself to get the job done. It was a bit nerve wracking to install the last "screw" which was actually something other than a screw. He twirled and twirled, and I, even though he was undressed, but he was just very deep. The camera detached from the mount when I tried to adjust it. It just didn't go where I wanted. When activated, the light becomes bright and diffuse, illuminating a much larger area than expected. If you walk under it, it will appear immediately. Like the camera, the motion sensor is also fine. A tip: Test your WiFi in the EXACT place before ordering this product. I brought the XT2 camera to the installation site and it worked fine, but after installation I had periods where the camera wouldn't wake up or otherwise become unresponsive. Not the fault of this device, just free advice. One more thing, according to the manufacturer's website, when the camera is plugged into the mains the battery is not used (and not charged). I was afraid that charging a non-rechargeable battery would catch fire, but after a few weeks I had no problems. Also, motion detection for light has NOTHING to do with motion detection for a camera. This flashlight has only one mount for the camera and the electronics are completely separate. And finally, when triggered, the light does not burn for very long. An adjustment would be nice. So that was the best option I found in January 2020 for a motion-activated headlamp that might also include a blink camera. I am not disappointed but this will be the only one I will buy. I will look for other options for other corners of my house.

Pros
  • POWERFUL SPOTLIGHT - The Wasserstein wired spotlight delivers 2000 lumens of light output that improves your camera's visibility in low light conditions, allowing you to control every dark corner of your property.
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
