I used to buy a Learning Tower and it just got annoying. It was a wonderful alternative for our family. It fits under the countertop so it can be tucked away a bit, it's sturdy but my almost 2 year old can pull it where he wants to go and although it has an open back it feels a bit more secure. In the training tower, my daughter sat down and forgot that one side was open and we had a couple of incidents where it fell out. It was also difficult for her to get in and out of the car. She just climbs up or slides down and the platform isn't big enough to sit on. My only complaint is that the nonstick surface is grainy like sandpaper and difficult to clean. Otherwise, I am very satisfied.
