Although I have been vaccinated against COVID and am comfortable without a mask in most situations, I have friends with high risk factors so I wear a mask when I am around them. Masks aren't the most stylish, but looks aren't among my top three requirements for a respirator. The N95 + NIOSH certification and the comfortable fit were the main reasons I bought them. As I had hoped, the wide profile kept the mask from falling down my face when inhaling. Instead of pulling the mask into my lips and nose as I inhaled, the mask stayed off my face. I think that's the main benefit of the platypus shape. Thanks to their flat shape, they can be easily carried in your pocket or backpack. The apartment is good. The stripes on this mask are unlike anything I've seen before. They are almost invisible. In fact, it took me a while to figure out how to attach the mask to my face because I didn't see the strips that stick to the inside of the mask until you take it off and slip it over your head. If you don't look closely, the stripes are difficult to see. They looked fragile at first, but held up well. Just in case, I carefully processed the strips. Maybe that wasn't necessary. Overall I am very happy with this mask. The biggest unknown (time will tell) is how well the bands will hold up to repeated use. While they don't last as long as other masks, they're affordable enough that I don't have to let them last forever.
