[UPDATED] I can't explain what has changed or why, but my initial problems with these headphones just went away. After extensive testing, I put the headphones in the case and got to work. About 10 hours later I went back and put it back in to continue testing. Since then, there have been absolutely no pairing or connecting issues. Hooray! With that, I can write the hoped and expected review of these headphones: I bought them mainly for the battery life. Most wireless earbuds offer 3 to 5 hours of battery life on paper, and this can decrease depending on how you use them. Even Airpods only offer around 5 hours while they reliably offer around 8 hours, which makes a big difference. And 100 hours of use out of the case means you don't have to worry about frequent charging. Even though I use it for many hours every day, I only need to charge it once or twice a week. In addition, they are excellent in size and comfort. With or without "wings", they are barely noticeable when inserted, do not move or fall out even with sudden movements. Sound quality is superb for wireless headphones, and if Airpods are the benchmark, they're much better. Even phone calls that are not important to me work great with it. I have no hearing problems and can speak normally or even whisper without worrying that the other person won't hear me. Now that the initial connection problem has "solved" itself, I can say that the connection and pairing of these headphones is very fast, very solid and very reliable. In short, I expected quality devices from Anker and these headphones do not disappoint at all. The only advantage Airpods have over them is the ability to easily pair with multiple devices. I love being able to connect Airpods to my Apple TV with the push of a button and still connect them to my iPhone effortlessly. But that's only because Apple's pairing technology is arbitrarily blocked, except for third-party ones. That being said, the Soundcore beats Liberty Airpods in every other category—all for over $70 less. I have many including 2 Soundcore BT speakers that I use every day and am very happy with. However, these headphones fall short of the claim of a "super strong” BT 5.0 connection. After almost 24 hours of extensive testing, all I can say is that the connection drops not only due to the short distance (but not always) to the phone, but also due to movement (walking with the phone in your pocket). It also does an odd thing when the audio starts to speed up, like it's being buffered during playback and failing to sync when it reaches the headphones. Without a solid connection to your phone and each other, the True Wireless can't even function like a paperweight (too light!) and are therefore useless. However, I have an email request from Anker, so my device may be defective. So for completeness, I'd say these headphones are well made, well packaged, fit great, are extremely comfortable, have exceptional battery life, and sound pretty good (enough for wireless headphones under $100). BUT. Plugging into headphones is crazy. Based on my previous experience with Anker, I assume that my device is defective. I would be surprised if these headphones were just poorly designed or made as Anker products are generally of very high quality. I will update this review if there is a solution.
