I was just looking for an electric shaver to trim my bikini line and the one I had had no instructions and it ripped hair out OH! So I decided to give this one a try when I got my new Venus Platinum razor because they all go together so cute. When I first used it I expected to be able to use it like my other electric razor to shave my leg hair before shaving (my legs always need it after winter) and DAMN. I tried it without the plastic guide and oh my god it just ate me up. Little cuts and cuts and then he ripped out a piece of my stuff, I stopped talking about that nonsense. So I put the plastic guide back on and it never comes off. But thankfully it works great for the reason I bought it. I can keep my bikini hair nice and trimmed, and I don't have to shave too much hair and just be naked like I've always done. I feel like a woman's child! With a guide it's great for trimming and that's all I'll be using it for!
