It dries you. It absorbs the water from your body. period. To only reason this is high praise is that it actually hard to buy a towel now days that will do that simple task. It is really easy to buy a towel that makes your bathroom look fantastic, but those towels rarely dry the water off your body. If that's what you want, then good for you. For me, I want a towel that gets the water off my body on the first wipe. This towel does that.
