The cover is definitely NOT cotton. The pillow I received has no tags so I can't tell if it's probably polyester but maybe some nylon or some other synthetic. Really disappointing to be misled as I was specifically looking for a latex pillow with a cotton cover. I'm still waiting to see if it comes off at all - I unwrapped it a few hours ago and it hasn't linted at all, not even a bit, so I can't even say if it would be ok if I did put the lid on. This product is in no way worth what they are asking for it and may actually be some sort of fake (at this point I don't even believe it's actually Talalay latex). Buyer Warning.
