NOT FOR EVERYONE. bubbles in the arch. Unfavorable.

I don't understand why this shoe doesn't have more bad reviews. I've heard a lot about Chakos. Was SO disappointed. My conclusion: Chaco is NOT for everyone. I have size 8/8.5 US. I bought a pair of these shoes in a regular size 8. I followed the instructions on how to adjust the straps to my foot. I often wore them to break them. I'm not an idiot. I know how to break in shoes. Unfortunately, all I got from this was blisters, especially on the arch where the arch is highest on the shoe itself. I'm not flat footed. I wear Birkenstocks with no problems. It's not like the Chacos have too much arch support for my foot. I found my foot was too wide at the arch point to hold it in the shoe. So instead of my foot fitting comfortably into the curve of the arch, it sort of sloshed out. Not only that, the highest part of my foot arch just didn't line up with the highest part of the shoe arch. My highest point is a little closer to the forefoot. So with every step, my arch would rub and rattle against the arch. If I didn't have blisters, I would have excruciating pain in my feet in a very specific area of my arch. I usually have a slightly wide toe and a narrow heel. In addition, the 2 straps are annoying. It takes twice as much effort to put your foot in and fasten the straps. Also, the straps didn't stay in place after I adjusted them. After loosening them and walking for a while, they tightened up on their own. I had to constantly adjust them. And without a loop, the lambskin coat cannot be tightened because the straps overlap. If you want a more versatile shoe that allows you to use a toe strap or not, you need to go for the single strap style.
