Locks make it difficult to use

They appear to be great quality BUT we are ridiculous enough to use them to pluck my dogs ears. They must snap into place to fully close and then are difficult to open and close with one hand and use for plucking. You have to push one side and pull the other to get it right. It is possible, but difficult for no good reason.
