I bought these first because my new countertop convection oven suggested placing oven racks on top to prevent damage to the countertop. It turns out that's not a problem; but I certainly found them very useful. They fold easily in half for small pans, or you can use them entirely for a full size cake pan etc. They work really well, are easy to use and easy to clean if you're a bit messy like me. I highly recommend these coasters.
