I see a very simple fix if/when this happens. Cut the elastic and add a $0.50 plastic clip, like those on the side straps (or a sports helmet chin strap). You can tighten as needed/desired. Two more side straps can be used to tighten the rear side panels more tightly. Very compact and portable like storage bag. Easy to use with one person, put on two people in 2 seconds.
