Review on 🌈 Lunar Tides Aurora Green Semi-Permanent Hair Color - Wide Range of 43 Stunning Shades by Teresa Wiggins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's long and hard

Note: I will compare this color to Manic Panics Infrared because it's my normal color. It may not be the most comparable color between the two brands, but it's the color I have the most experience with. I wrote everything once only to accidentally delete it right away. This will probably be a long review even if I try to rush my points. I did so much research before purchasing this color and the photos that accompany this listing look amazing. I have naturally blonde hair that I've dyed red for ages. My roots are light enough that I don't need to bleach them before coloring. Blood Moon currently relies on layers and layers of Manic Panic Infrared and Vampire Red. I love love love MP quality and the only reason I was interested in switching was because of the boredom of the same colors over and over again. Lunar Tides has received very positive reviews online. I stumbled across a list of top fashion colors and Lunar Tides took first place followed by Manic Panic. I decided that with all the great press I've seen, it's worth trying a different brand. Anyway, Blood Moon sounds like what I like. I don't like leaving negative reviews so I'll start with what I liked. The seller is prompt and the order was correct. The packaging is charming. Color is good, good red. What bothers me the most is that the color is horribly transparent. Looks like someone turned down the infrared opacity. There is even a noticeable difference in the formulas. Manic Panic is just a lot thicker and more pigmented. It's a similar contrast between liquid lipstick and lip gloss, the latter being Lunar Tides. It just lacks the intensity. It's more of a tint or stain than color (for me). Maybe my hair type is just not suitable for this color? The color is normal. A very classic red. When I color my hair with Manic Panic Infrared it initially looks like a deep and shiny slice of red velvet cake. The color becomes a brilliant ruby red. The pigment has such depth and it almost develops instead of being washed out. I wouldn't have to repaint if it weren't for my roots. Speaking of roots! Lunar Tides has been a huge influence on my new growth. He tinted the blonde with a light orange-copper tone. The overall color would be acceptable if it wasn't reflecting off the top of my head. I had some IR left over from my last dye and wanted to use it to add dimension to Blood Moon. The areas I colored with Manic Panic were the only places where the color reached the ends of my hair. That's a good color. If you have bleached hair and are looking for a nice classic red, Blood Moon is (probably) your choice. If you're dying for deeper colors, please do yourself a favor and skip this one. Manic Panic is a magician when it comes to raspberries. Infrared radiation is intense, voluminous and long-lasting. Vampire Red takes second place. I will include tagged images to illustrate my point. Thanks for reading, and to everyone involved in the research: good luck with the dye you're aiming for!
