My 60 lb Doberman always shivers in the Texas winter (she's a wimp) so I ordered an XXL for her. It's a bit big on her but after reading other reviews I'm not sure if the next size down would be bigger. She wore it all the time for a few days and then she started getting hot spots and sores on her legs where the sleeves kept chafing. I only wore her when she was cold and tended to her legs. She has long, skinny legs, so the holes weren't too small, but she rubbed herself until she bled where they went. It started falling apart because of what we did from time to time. It all fell apart completely when she was playing with another dog and the dog got a little mischievous. Not a big deal, but the dog raised its paw to play and completely ripped the sweater, making it unwearable. We got through a good three weeks, which is really all we need to get through a Texas winter, but we were disappointed with the overall quality. I won't be buying a new one next year.
