I used them to add accent lighting to a bookshelf in my reading corner. It turned out very, very nice! There are so many different settings and color combinations to suit my mood and decor. The lights also have a setting to match whatever music you're playing - it works, but that setting isn't its biggest draw for me. My favorite aspect is the beautiful color combinations and the rainbow effect. I make sure to leave the antennas outside so I can use the remote easily around the room. These can make a medium to small sized Christmas tree really unique - I might try adding them to a pink Christmas tree for a unique pop of color!
