Coax input didn't work with my TV
My old TV's coax output didn't work with this DAC. I was listening with headphones and when I turned on the DAC I heard a higher frequency for about 2 seconds and then sustained low frequency distorted hiss. I suspect that the higher frequency was some sort of preamble and the lower frequency was the actual PCM stream. I tested it with a newer TV over an optical connection and that part worked. This older Sharp TV may not support the PCM/Toslink specifications used today. A quick note: the product case includes a full 5V power supply and cord. Power adapter not included, USB power cord only. You need to provide a 5V power supply.
