Thank God I finally have a backpack instead of a shoulder bag, because this backpack is very comfortable to wear even when it's fully packed. The insides are spacious and organized and even have cute little labels to tell you where to keep things. The dedicated laptop compartment closest to the back is also an important feature for me. It's also made from a modern looking waterproof material which I haven't specifically tested but will likely protect your gear. EDIT: I've been using this bag for a few months now and often ride my bike with my laptop. and other equipment. Whether worn on my bike or on the milk crate on the back of the bike it protected and held everything very well. Also, an important update: I have ridden my bike in very heavy rain and I can say that this bag is VERY waterproof. Outside it was completely wet, but inside it was warm and completely dry. EDIT: The smooth material of the case works very well as a mouse pad, which is cool.
