Review on Efficient Soldering Holder for Desoldering Circuits by Stephen Johnson

For a long time I had a soldering iron that was heavy and unwieldy. One of those old Weller brands. I've been using a soldering iron lately after realizing how easy and simple it is to use. The problem was that the warm-up would take forever. It seems to be the best of both worlds with the bonus solder feed! Heats up quickly and holds the temperature. The iron is short, so it's convenient to use, and it's not heavy unless you're loading a whole spool of solder. I just take my solder and wrap it around the spent core, just a few turns and that's enough for me to work on multiple projects. The solder feed helps a lot. I don't know why it took so long to invent something like this. It always seems like I have to be Vishnu to hold the components together with the iron and finally the solder. Well I'm not a many-armed god so I need all the help I can get. I already have a "helping hands" station that clamps various parts so both of my hands can hold the iron and feed the solder, but often that just isn't enough. Maybe the clips aren't strong enough or you need to do something at a less than ideal angle. More light? Need a little push? Whatever the reason, it helps. Soldering with one hand. who knew
