Very coarse in serving dishes
It took a lot of sanding with fine sandpaper to smooth out the VERY rough egg slots. I wouldn't recommend it as a gift as it took a lot of work to make it something to use. After reading the review I was expecting a rough finish that would need sanding and oiling, but I was still a little disappointed in its original condition.
