This unit was a direct mount as Revane said. My daughter pulled the old one out and put the new one in, but the clip/connector is a bit fiddly and she needs help. Otherwise, it's easy to install, blows well, and is great value. As a side note, check the cabin air filter while replacing this unit. Most people don't know, but your car has probably never been modified. You'll be shocked at what you see when you pull it out.
