Most suction cup hooks will come loose after a while. It's in my shower on the glass that holds the shaving mirror (plastic mirror). The button in the middle of this suction cup device places the mug on the glass. From time to time I lightly press this button. If the vacuum started leaking down, this will reset it. So far it has not fallen for many months. I suspect if this suction cup device gets installed and forgotten for a year it might work a little better than the cheap ones that usually fail in less than a year. But I can't say for sure yet. This little button makes it easy to reset the suction cup without removing it. For those who don't know, no suction cup will hold anything other than smooth surfaces like flat shiny glass and shiny tiles. The suction cups will not stick to tiles of any texture. They won't hold if you tape them across the grout line. They don't stick to the wood. They will not stick to paint on a drywall. They can stick to the forehead for about 15 seconds. But that would not be an attractive fashion trend.
