The case serves as a battery to charge the headphones. Which is a pretty good deal. But even after manually turning off the headphones and fully charging them, they spontaneously start charging for no apparent reason. So my guess is that the batteries in the headphones don't hold a constant charge for very long. Or subtle movements somehow cause the headphones to disconnect and restart charging. It is no problem to use them daily. If I let them a week I find a 50% deal charging 1 or both earbuds. That annoyance aside, this is a good pair of headphones, comfortable, have great sound/responsiveness, and work with mobile/Alexa.
