I've used both hard and medium compounds in Renthal grips (on my 2005 Yamaha R1). I like the slimmer size (compared to standard). Standard grips are 32mm, but these are 29mm. The smaller diameter gives you the feeling of more contact with the bike. However, be careful, the solid composition has almost no adhesion. It might be fine for a trackday, but it quickly becomes annoying on the road. I mean, it's not the end of the world, but it transmits quite a bit of vibration through the clip-ons. In the end I switched to the average composition and was happy with it. I've also tried power gel grips as well as professional grips. Pendants are very good but the diameter was the same stock. Professional pens are a waste of time and money. I did a YouTube video review if you want to see more:[.]But Renthal pens are very, very good. I would recommend a medium composition, although I haven't tried the soft one myself.
