Harem pants should be roomy in the crotch area, but they really are roomy. My son is almost 8 months old (about 20 pounds and 75th percentile in height) and I bought a 12 month size and they are about 3 inches larger at the waist which I have to accept. I washed them hot and dried them to shrink them and it was a typical shrinkage rate of about 5 to 8 percent. They look like they could fit a little 3 year old wearing a cloth diaper. Overall I like them, mainly as pajamas and to wear around the house. The photo shows the Touched by Nature trousers in the same size.
