Bought this camera from Amazon at the end of April; The battery died while on holiday in early August and will NOT be recharged. I should have listened to all the feedback here warning of this issue. The camera was a great bargain - a fabulous price for options - so I wasn't listening. Because of this, I was left with a dead camera for the last month of summer vacation. I'm tired of spending money and now I have nothing. Updating and downgrading my review: I literally followed the online instructions for returning a dead camera with a battery. Filled out an online form, packed the camera SEPARATELY from the tiny battery (how stupid is it that they tell you to take the tiny battery out of the camera to ship it?) and paid to have it sent to them send. They sent a friendly status update that my camera was still under warranty so there was no cost to 'fix' it, but then sent my camera back with an invoice stating my camera was fine . They said there was no battery included which was WRONG. They must have thrown it away when they unpacked it because it was damn included. Now I've lost an extra $10 and still have a dead camera that only lasted four months. *B* *S* Ongoing drama. So I called support to complain about this even though I had sent papers saying I had the camera and battery turned on and the camera and battery turned on. They sent the camera back claiming they didn't receive the battery. The support team said they would contact the service department and get back to me. <crickets> <crickets> Seven days later and not a word so I called back. The new CS girl said that the service department never emailed the first CS, so the first CS didn't contact me. The new CS girl said she would write back to the service department and see if she responds this time. Um... is that the best they can do? For real? What setup: talk to CS, service dept just ignore CS, no solution NEVER. CS said that's all they can do because they can't call customer service, only emails. The consumer screwed it up.
