Review on πŸŽ’ Switchblade 24 Running Hydration Pack in Sangria/Magenta Rose, One Size - Nathan NS4529-0340-00 by Pete Norris

LOVE IT - bought 3!

I threw away my old Nathan after 3 years of use and abuse. The threads of the belt had become so thin that the water bottles bounced too hard and jumped out of the holder. To me, this new design is MUCH better. ADVANTAGES: 1. The threads of the belt are thicker.2. Love the side pocket for keys, phone and gels.3. The brackets are tilted and detachable, which the old Nathan lacked.4. Water bottles have a rubber backing to increase grip strength in the holder and hand. There is also an additional loop for the drinking bottle. Cons: 1. Not ideal for long runs. It is best to buy hydro backpacks, more water, less bounce.2. See Fig. 2, the water bottle strap should be thicker. I don't know why Nathan did it so cheaply that this bond will eventually stretch and break. I'll have to go to Home Depot and look for these mini-cables to eventually replace.

Pros
  • Race ready features include gel loops, gel waste bag
Cons
  • Large and bulky
