Review on πŸ–±οΈ EVGA X17 Gaming Mouse: Wired, Grey, Customizable, 16,000 DPI, 5 Profiles, 10 Buttons - Ergonomic 903-W1-17GR-KR by Dana Berger

Revainrating 4 out of 5

If you choose between X15 and G600, take X15.

I saw the X15 at 50% off and took the chance to return the G600 a month ago. I unzipped it, installed the software, set up the layout and clicked apply. I then switched it to another computer and was greeted with the fact that all my mappings remained intact. Apparently there is no software or built-in mode for EVGA mice. All settings are always saved onboard once you click Apply. Simple and user-friendly software with all functions. My new favorite mouse. Unfortunately it is no longer available and has returned to its regular price but if I had a choice I would still buy it as it really works. Background: I bought a Logitech G600 maybe 10 years ago. and the software was absolutely terrible. It was so limited that even basic features like media mapping like volume up/down were missing. Sent it back asap. Fast forward to this year, I've given Logitech another chance since it's been 10 years. OF COURSE they must have fixed it by now. I installed the new Logitech software and was pleasantly surprised that it now offers media mapping. So I switch the mouse to inline mode, disable the mouse and move it to another computer and all settings are lost. Built-in memory function DOES NOT WORK with the new software, tried several times, the result is the same. I thought it might be buggy so I installed the old 10 year old Logitech software and found that the onboard storage WORKS, but the old software is still limited in the sense that it's missing a lot of features. came back again I can't believe Logitech can't fix this crap in TEN YEARS.

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Hard to say
