We bought this for my father-in-law, age 92, who no longer has the best of balance. He refuses to sit down to put on his shoes so we thought a long handled shoe horn would be a good option. This one flexes too much at the base. I'm not sure if he refuses to use it because of the flex or if it is because he is too darn stubborn. It does work, just not as well or confidently as a solid metal version. This one feels like it could snap too easily.
