Shoes mostly work. But if the cat doesn't like them, they will be determined to get rid of them. You can tighten them so that they cannot easily take off their shoes. Although there is a drainage hole at the bottom, sometimes a cat's claw can crawl in. So these shoes aren't terrible, they just aren't the best. They work, but not fully.
