Review on NAD C ๐ŸŽง 316BEE Integrated Amplifier with Phonograph by Ahmad แ Œ

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great value for money, one of the best offers.

Not having the hearing of a music lover, I chose this amplifier of the initial Hi-Fi level because of its moderate dimensions compared to analogues at the lowest price, taking into account the reputation of the manufacturer. The amplifier is loaded on top class Soviet speakers. At the entrance is a Marantz CD player, a Yamaha player and a TV set via a DAC. Unfortunately, I donโ€™t use a vinyl player anymore and I wonโ€™t say anything about the quality of the amplification at the phono input. Compared to the previous amplifier, the clearer spatial separation of the sound is impressive. The sound is soft, high frequencies do not irritate excessive harshness. The complete absence of dynamic distortion and noise to my ears. Sharp sounds and fast low frequencies are perfectly reproduced, which indicates good damping of transients. However, at a very low volume, the amplifier sounds somehow indistinct and you want to add heat. Those. its field of activity is medium and high power. I liked the tone control. It is LF and HF that are effectively regulated, and not the frequencies adjacent to them. At the same time, the bass is regulated with a margin; the regulator is usually not set to extreme positions. The trebles are regulated less effectively, but in the correct range, and even in the maximum position, the treble remains airy and without distortion such as poking and sand. The volume for a room of 20 m2 is more than enough and the volume control when working with standard sources is usually displayed no more than 30%. But for a smartphone, the volume has to be displayed much more. When headphones are plugged into the front panel jack, the speakers are disabled. However, low-impedance sensitive headphones with an amplifier are not consistent. The regulator is set almost to zero and the volume is not comfortably adjustable, although the sound in the headphones remains very decent and without noise (apart from the throw when turned on).

Pros
  • Easy to use, relatively compact, does not heat up at normal volume, good channel separation, sound without noticeable distortion and noise, correct tone operation. Motorized volume control. Lots of inputs, including a smartphone input on the front. Blue color of indicators after switching on.
Cons
  • Dim sound at low volume, timbre cannot be adjusted from the remote control, insufficient volume control in the minimum position, low-impedance headphones do not match in volume.
