I wanted silicone coasters and saw these compact coasters, which are actually better than just discs. The great thing about them is that unlike others that fold out, they are FLAT instead of rounded. They're also very thick, so if you want some cooling, air goes down. I've even used these used pans to cool while still working on the others on my stovetop when it gets too crowded. Accommodates almost any size, including a lasagna pan commonly used with 11" casserole dishes and 12" skillets, as well as regular pots. Very handy and holds up well, just like a reviewer's picture of coasters and potholders, I copied that person's setup and now I have four of these, two stacks on each side closer to the back of the potholder drawer and it worked. perfect without really taking up space. Much better than thin hard silicone discs.
