I cut my hair to less than an inch. Although I have no regrets, I still wish that sometimes I could have something to cover my head when I'm cold. These fit perfectly. I would say my head is medium sized and the hats fit loose. You can't see the hole at the end of the hat due to the interesting stitching design that twists the hole. You can find it and pull your hair through if you like this style. Works great around the neck, mouth and nose when you want something breathable to cover your face. There is no elastic in the design (but the fabric does stretch). So after wearing it around your neck, simply remove it, line up the front seam and with a gentle shake the hole will be hidden again. very short hair, it stays. It doesn't slip off, it works almost like velcro, only comfortably. This is great as I didn't want to pull the hat over my forehead to hold it.
