A few criticisms of ceiling and wall TV mounts

I am very happy with this TV mount. I've had it for 4 months now. These are just two low profile parts. The part that attaches to the wall is fairly small (about the width and height of a deck of cards). The part you attach to the TV is much larger than what you see on the product description picture. The TV I installed with it is 32 inches diagonal, 1.5 inches deep, and weighs 15.4 pounds. I have a few criticisms for those who want to buy it: Pros - Easy to install. The latch has a few degrees of rotational play, so if the wall mount isn't perfectly aligned you can still rotate the TV a few degrees either way (don't worry, it doesn't rotate freely and requires a few pounds). Press the corner of the TV to move it). If I need to connect a cable to the back of the TV, I just lift the TV up a few inches and it turns itself off. Mounting the TV on the wall is easy as the bracket's wedge shape does not require perfect alignment during installation. Don't worry about my TV falling off with this mount (I have a mechanical engineering degree for what it's worth). Cons: This "V/Wedge" latch has some play so my TV doesn't sit perfectly upright and tilts down a few degrees. Trust me, it's not noticeable even if, like me, you're looking straight at eye level. The build is pretty solid, but I did notice that the bracket that attaches to the TV is domed about 1/8 inch off center. It's not a big deal, but since this mount is only 1/2 inch deep, it's a lot more. I've really tried to keep my TV as unobtrusive as possible since it's in a high traffic area.

Pros
  • Quick, easy and secure installation with included hardware
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
