I bought a new MacBook Pro and unfortunately the computer no longer has a native Mini DisplayPort connector, so it's time to buy keys. I've always preferred DisplayPort on higher resolution displays, although the newer HDMI specs may support 4K. I use this adapter with the standard DisplayPort cable that comes with my Dell U2515H, which supports 2560 x 1440 resolution. The picture quality is no different than my previous MacBook (great) and my Mac responded immediately to connecting a monitor . No additional setup was required on my system and I was able to continue with my business. And I had no problem waking up the display after waking up from sleep. Note. I wouldn't consider an adapter with an additional USB-C port for power delivery, mainly because with four USB-C ports on a MacBook Pro, that's not critical. MacBook. When I try to move it, the image doesn't flicker, which is a positive. My previous Mini DisplayPort input flickered with a lot of jitter, so while it doesn't feel like it, it's still an improvement. The end of the cable that connects to the full-size DisplayPort cable coming out of my monitor has no wobble or wobble issues. All in all a great value adapter and if you're trying to customize it I'd recommend it. If only Apple had left some native display caps on the MacBook Pro.
